The Salida Valley trip is great for nearly all ages, 5-95.
The Salida Valley is an enjoyable way for everyone to experience the Arkansas River. Small splashy rapids and lots of floating. A great way to spend the morning or afternoon with the whole family. Class I and II rapids are interspersed with sections of calm where you can relax and enjoy panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, and the blue heron, mallards and geese.
The Quarter Day trip is a quick splashy trip perfect for the little kiddos that might not handle a half day. It's also a great trip for dogs. See our policy for dogs on trips.
We launch just minutes from our office, and float through the open Arkansas River valley. Stunning views of the Sawatch Mountain range of the Rocky Mountains are the backdrop for this trip. We also pass through the town of Salida, and get to experience the man made rapids in the play park. The trip ends at Salida East State Park access area.
This is a great introductory trip for young kids and adults. Children must be at least 5 years old and weight 35 pounds or more.
