FAQs
Quick answers before you book your Arkansas River rafting trip.
What should I bring?
Bring clothes that can get wet, sunscreen, sunglasses with a retainer, secure footwear, and a towel for after your trip. We provide all the river gear you'll need.
How old do you have to be?
Minimum ages depend on the trip and river conditions. Salida Valley is usually best for younger kids, Bear Creek is a great step up, Browns Canyon is our most popular family trip, and The Numbers is for ages 16+.
Do I need experience?
No experience is needed for most trips. Our guides provide a thorough safety briefing and will help match your group with the best river section.
What's included?
Your trip includes professional guides, helmets, PFDs, paddles, and complimentary river gear including wetsuits, splash jackets, and river shoes when needed.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, on select trips and when conditions are appropriate. Please call us before booking so we can confirm availability and make sure your dog is a good fit for the trip. Dogs are charged the same rate as a person since they require their own space in the raft.
Can I wear glasses or contacts?
Absolutely. We recommend using a sunglass or eyeglass retainer to keep them secure. We also provide complimentary sunglass retainers if you need one.
What if the weather is bad?
Trips run rain or shine. Afternoon showers are common in Colorado, so morning trips often have the best weather.
Do you provide wetsuits?
Yes. We provide complimentary wetsuits, splash jackets, and river shoes whenever conditions call for them. There's never an extra charge for essential river gear.
Where are you located?
We're based at Chalk Creek Campground in Nathrop, conveniently located between Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado.
